When you’re looking for a Greensboro headshot photographer, it’s important to know exactly what to expect from the money you’re spending. As more professionals look to photographers to help create an outstanding image for their public and social profiles, good headshots are extremely important.
There will always be a broad range in pricing between most types of business, especially photographers. So, you may want to know, how much do headshots cost? Let’s get started.
I have seen pricing for headshots range between $40-1000+. While the higher end seems extreme it vastly depends on the type and of market you’re in, although I have not seen many good looking low-end headshots.
My headshot pricing for individuals is $150 and you can expect to have plenty of options from there. Peter Hurley, a very well-known headshot photographer with a studio in New York commands a hefty price for his headshots but is well worth the investment.
In reality YOU, the client, will ultimately determine what the value of a headshot is from looking through a photographer’s portfolio. Whether you are one of many business owners that work from home or a CEO of a major company, you are the face the client sees and needs to be representative of the brand.
People will do business with people they Like, Know and Trust. If shelling out $1000 isn’t in your budget for a headshot, you still have options but paying for a cheap headshot may do more harm than good for your brand or public image.
Why is there such a big difference in price?
Not all headshots are the same. A relatively new photographer just getting into headshots may offer a lower rate but lacks the experience in posing and lighting techniques needed for a great headshot.
Convenience: If convenience is important to you, some photographers offer On Location sessions. Doug Burke Headshots can setup a portable studio almost anywhere.
Editing: Low-end headshot photographers may not offer much in editing to ensure proper color, blemish removal and small details that need correction in the editing process.
Desperation: Like many other industries, the photography industry has its share of those that will charge a minimal amount to get the job but leave you without a quality finished product.
Equipment: So much can go into setting up for a headshot including lighting, computer, editing software, stands, cameras, backdrops, etc. but an IPhone can take a great picture too, if you know what you’re doing with light.
When I started shooting headshots I worked on lighting and posing for almost a year before I found my style and what I feel works best. It is subjective and you can be the judge. If you find that my pricing and style fits your needs, contact me today to setup your headshot session and let the fun begin!
