Senior portrait sessions hold immense importance for graduating seniors. It’s the first time in their life when everything is about them. Senior portrait sessions celebrate one of the biggest milestones of their lives and mark the point in their lives beyond which everything will change for good!
Graduating seniors spend a lot of time, energy, and emotions planning the day and want it to be perfect. But zits are zits, and they’ll always be just that! They know when to pop up to ruin special days. Imagine waking up all excited for the big day and finding an ugly zit on your face!
You’ll freak out, right? Obviously!
Your first question will be, ‘how do I hide it before the senior portrait session?’
Well, if you’re reading this, the chances are that you already got a zit, and you’re looking for ways to hide it so that it doesn’t show in your senior portraits are high.
Relax. We’ve got you covered. We promise you that your zit won’t show in the pictures. Here’s what you got to do:
Work on Reducing the Redness and Swelling First
If you hide your zit with makeup, your zit will still show in the pictures because of the swollen bump. This is why your first objective should be to reduce swelling and redness. You can reduce swelling in several ways. You can apply ice wrapped in a cloth. The coolness of ice can help reduce the swelling and soothe the zit. You can also use over-the-counter products like salicylic acid-based gels or creams. If you’ve never used these products on zits before, don’t try them on the big day because it can cause irritation in some people and make things worse.
Remember not to pop or pick the zit. It’ll only make things worse – and more painful for you.
Cover it Up Carefully
Most people skip the moisturizing step when they’ve got zits because they fear that oily products can worsen the breakout. What you can do is apply an oil-free moisturizer because if you don’t hydrate your skin well, your skin won’t look good in pictures. You should also make sure that the cosmetics you’re using are also oil-free.
Don’t apply too much of anything on your face in an attempt to cover up your zit. Too much foundation or concealer will make your face look cakey, and your pictures won’t come out nice and natural. Your makeup will look overdone, which is never a good thing.
Color Corrector Over Concealer
Concealers do a great job of hiding zits and scars. However, color correctors are a better option as they can help hide the redness better. The best option for redness associated with zot breakout is a green color corrector. It’ll cover up the redness, and once you apply a layer of foundation over it, nobody will be able to tell you’ve got a fresh zit on your face!
If you’ve got a zit on your face on your senior photography day and you’re freaking out, the first thing that you got to do is relax. Panicking won’t help you get rid of the zit. Start with icing to sooth the swelling and irritation, and then start with cosmetic touch up to hide the zits. Trust us; you’ll be good to go!
